The Characters of the Panda Syndicate

Agent Emily Aragon

Intelligent and resourceful agent with the F.B.I.  Having been assigned as head of a "Panda Syndicate" task force by the Federal Government, Agent Aragon is a take-charge type of person.  She is extremely direct, wasting little time on pleasantries when action is required, which will propel our heroic contingency forward in their efforts to defeat the villainous Xiongmao.  She will stop at nothing to achieve her goals.  A former marine, Agent Aragon spent time in Bosnia, Panama, Columbia, Morocco and South Africa in 1999 where she met Agents Dixon and Kho.  Not much is known about the purpose behind her mission in Morocco, but it can be assumed that it has something to do with Xiongmao and members of the Panda Syndicate.  Finally, in 2003, Agent Aragon was appointed as the head of the Panda Syndicate Task Force within the FBI, following the untimely death of her predecessor while on vacation.

Fun Fact - There are none. Emily leads a very work-oriented lifestyle.

General Muunokhoi Badzar

Xiongmao's military counsellor. General Badzar is a trusted advisor to the diabolical commander of the Panda Syndicate and has been by his side for many years. General Badzar believes firmly in the "shoot first and ask questions later" mentality. He is often encouraging Xiongmao to stir up trouble, and he is not happy unless they are at war with someone.

Amanda Bannister

Bossy and demanding sister to Artie Bannister (a sleazy media pirate with ties to the Hong Kong criminal underworld who operates out of a tatoo parlor).  Amanda has a good heart, but she is very selfish at times.  Amanda becomes involved in the fight against the Panda Syndicate while on the sidelines with Talia Goez (psychic sensation - see below).  Amanda is bisexual, exuding confidence in her openly robust sexuality.

Fun Fact - Amanda Bannister was Miss August for Madness Beer's annual Bikini Beer Wench Calendar this year, and she prefers to go commando in camo.

Artie Bannister

Paranoid and hysterical.  Artie Bannister is a man of multiple personalities, famous for his irritability and tirades.  Artie is intelligent, adventurous, resourceful and capable; however, he is hostile by nature so don't try to get on his good side (he doesn't have one).  He has truly turned the use of obscenity into an art form.  Raised in a burlesque theatre in Paris, France, Artie loves to show off his legs and parade about in women's clothing.  His mother was a Gypsy flamenco dancer and his father an engineer as well as a Holocaust Survivor from Poland.  Artie's roots go deep, and his family is strong.  His only soft spot is for his sister Amanda, who is really only his adopted sister after all (her mother and father died suddenly in a relatively small plane crash sometime in the mid-1980's).

Fun Fact - Artie loves to sift through his sister Amanda's closet and, in particular, her collection of high heels.  Artie has been working on a life-size statue of Marilyn Monroe.  Artie smokes Jack Smokes.

Governor Charles Bedford

Governor Bedford has been involved in Politics for over forty years, having worked his way up the ladder from clerk to one of the most powerful gubernatorial positions in the country.  Governor Bedford is nearing the end of his first four-year term, and he is looking to continue his residence in Drumthwacket, the much-coveted gubernatorial mansion in Princeton, with his wife Constance and daughter Lisa-Marie.  Governor Bedford has been criticized for his weak stance on both crime and gang violence by his opponent Thomas Hearst, who is looking to overturn what he calls a soon-to-be "lame duck" administration.  Many within the Governor's own Majority of the State Legislature denied comment when asked about their leader's announcement.  Whether you love or hate Charles Bedford, this will prove an interesting campaign season.

Fun Fact - Governor Bedford owns stock in Cash-U's Cashews; although, he has never really liked their spicier line!

Otto Belmar

Best friend, confidant and bodyguard to Renard, sleazy club owner and general in the army of the Panda Syndicate, Otto has always had a bad streak in him. A popular "b-movie" actor by trade best known for his portrayal of the villainous "Christopher Ilg," leader of the Decadent Palm crime syndicate in the popular television series "Security Corps" and a guest appearance on the TV show "Carnivore." Otto has a heavy cocaine addiction and a terrible temper best kept on a short leash. In an attempt to curtail his drug addiction and start anew, Otto committed himself to a year-long drug rehabilitation clinic. After his year of detoxification, he decided to take a peaceful vacation in Romania to visit family. While at a club in Bucharest, Otto was again presented with an opportunity that he could not refuse when a gorgeous young woman offered him that which he had tried so hard to expunge from his life - cocaine. After a few wild weeks in Bucharest, Otto was apprehended by local authorities for a major disturbance of the peace when he overturned a bus filled with passengers, and he was imprisoned for possession of "illegal narcotics." It was in this prison that he met Renard who took a immediate liking to the extremely wild Otto Belmar. After these two maniacal men to teamed up to break out of prison, they began a life of crime that would make even the most volatile of villains blush. Otto is a man of many connections. As Renard's materials man, Otto has often been called upon to arrange the appropriation of a variety of different items, ranging from jet planes to chemical explosives. A one-man, evil A-team, Otto is always prepared for the worst-case-scenario and he is delighted it "when a plan comes together."

Burke

Burke is the brains behind the dynamic duo of Burke and Stockwell.  A field agent for Xiongmao, Burke can often be found impersonating various members of authority or governmental officials; although, he is by nature a man of the woods and true survivalist.  Burke is arrogant and cruel.  Having had a difficult upbringing and having been shifted from foster home to foster home as a child, Burke had to learn how to blend into the background and yet get away with whatever he could to accomplish his goals.  As a troubled teen, Burke spent his formative years locked away in a Juvenile Detention Center, where he developed his cold strength and hatred for the rest of humanity.  Burke shows up at Rachel Gehret's house, having intersected a phone call to police about a break-in, and takes her into custody, along with the help of Stockwell and Victoria L'Orain-Arc.

Agent Diego de Castilhos

A Brazilian Agent who has been assigned to infiltrate the Panda Syndicate.  Agent de Castilhos was born in Argentina in 1972.  His father opposed harsh military tactics used by the government to quash “terrorists” and fell victim to the “Long Dark Night” that swallowed up so many souls in 1979.  Diego’s mother fled Argentina with her eight year old son during riots in 1980 and resettled in Porto Alegre in Southern Brazil where hereceived his education.  Agent de Castilhos is a gentleman at heart with a powerful intellect, a knack for electronics and computers, a special talent for languages and a powerful background in hand-to-hand martial arts combat.  A South American James Bond, Agent de Castilhos has traveled the world, engaging the Panda Syndicate wherever they may be.  In 1993, upon turning twenty-one, he traveled to Russia where he battled Xiongmao’s agents against the backdrop of civil war in Moscow.  Since that time, Agent de Castilhos has thwarted the efforts of the Panda Syndicate in such places as Egypt, Thailand and Antarctica.  Having fought a whole different front on the war with the Panda Syndicate, Agent de Castilhos has never had dealings with Agents Stratford Dixon or Archibald Kho (both of whom have been working against the Panda Syndicate as well); although, Agent de Castilhos is familiar with Agent Emily Aragon through shared information and a mutual respect for their shared goals in the quest to stop Xiongmao from destroying the world.  Agent de Castilhos and Agent Aragon have not always, however, gotten along and are, at the opening of “Fight the Panda Syndicate” not on the greatest of terms.

Agent Stratford Dixon

Formerly of Military Intelligence Section 5 with her Majesty's Secret Service.  God Save the Queen.  His association, for the purposes of this mission, is as an agent with INTERPOL.  Dixon is a mysterious and enigmatic individual.  As Jim Reeder's guide, he deftly keeps our heroes one step ahead of the Panda Syndicate and pursuing authorities at all times with an ever-present sense of calm and poise.  Little is revealed about Dixon's past, but it is suggested that had a previous working relationship with Agent Emily Aragon (whom he met in South Africa in 1999 along with Kazimierz Yonac).

Fun Fact - Agent Stratford Dixon is rarely caught without a ready and steady supply of chocolate pudding; although, he prefers generic nameless brands for some odd reason, refusing to give his patronage to any particular brand of pudding.

Rachel Gehret

As a professor of psychology associated with Northern State University, Rachel Gehret never expected to become involved in a battle to save the world from a bloodthirsty demon such as Xiongmao.  Rachel believes in fate and DES-TI-NY!  Originally from Upstate New York, she moved out to California for college.  University of Berkeley, obtaining her bachelor's and Master's there.  She then worked in San Diego for a while in their Psych. Department prior to moving back to the east coast to be closer to her mom and her sister Nikki.  Rachel's involvement in the story of "Fight the Panda Syndicate" begins when she is appointed executrix of the estate of her uncle Kazimierz Yonac, inheriting the bulk of his estate and one very special artifact, about which this particular chapter in the chronicles of the Panda Syndicate revolves.

Fun Fact - Rachel studied Tae Kwon Do when she was younger and she is researching the overlap between music and language in the human brain at Northern State University.

Talia Goez

Psychic sensation Talia Goez has just recently signed a deal with LPAN for a nightly television program based upon her experiences as a psychic. Ms. Goez will be taking calls and responding directly to viewers. This deal, brokered by network executives, will steal Ms. Goez away from local access Channel 63, which broadcasts entirely in Spanish. As part of a new initiative, LPAN will be offering the show in Spanish or English, encouraging Ms. Goez's current viewers to continue watching her program. When asked to comment, Ms. Goez advised that she "couldn't be happier!" and that she believes this will "allow her to reach out to more people and their problems."  Ms. Goez, who attributes her psychic abilities to an extremely spiritual teacher from her college years, has advised that her abilities developed as a result of her "exposure to a higher power that opened her eyes to differing perspectives on reality." She has refused to comment further on the nature of her abilities or the exact moment of their awakening. However, Ms. Goes has often referred to her gift as a "mixed blessing," stating "It's overwhelming when my gifts kick in. I can't always control them and sometimes they make me very emotional. They are a mixed blessing."

Fun Fact - Talia Goez is heiress to the Pinky Poppy Popping Corn Dynasty in Atlanta.

Agent Archibald Kho

Much like Agent Stratford Dixon, Kho is formerly of Military Intelligence Section 5 with her Majesty's Secret Service, and his association, for the purposes of this mission, is as an agent with INTERPOL.  Also like Agent Dixon, little is known about Agent Archibald Kho's past, with the exception of a few isolated details.  Kho spent several years on assignment in Morocco where he met Dixon himself, and they forged a strong partnership.  More recently, Kho spent one year on assignment in Australia where he and Agent Dixon may have worked closely with Kazimierz Yonac and other members of the Mossad.

Fun Fact - As a disenfranchised youth, Kho was wrapped up in the British Punk phenomenon of the 1970's.  He was influenced greatly by such bands as the Sex Pistols and The Who, and he formed his own garage band called "Skive," which means to play hooky in Americanized English, who that later changed their name to "Explicit."

Vernon Lennox

He is one of Xiongmao’s Generals and his main security advisor for the Beaver Creek complex.  Involved in a clandestine relationship with Ms. Isabella Roman, Xiongmao’s Executive Assistant, Mr. Lennox knows a great deal more than the average soldier in Xiongmao’s army.  Through his love affair with Ms. Roman, he has learned of Xiongmao’s plans to bring about the end of the world, which have given him great reason for concern.

Victoria L'Orain-Arc

Intelligent, ambitious, power-hungry, assertive, manipulative, powerful and stunning to behold, Victoria L’Orain-Arc is one of Xiongmao’s most powerful and effective agents.  Although, both her boundless lustful ambition and her astonishing appetite for physical pleasure have entangled her in a web of deceit that make it difficult for her to navigate, she is fully capable of handling anything life might throw at her.  Having grown up in Soviet Byelorussia prior to the dissolution of the Soviet Union, having been resettled as a youth due to the Chernobyl accident in 1986 and having lost her true love (Nikita) to an unexpected and violent death there, Victoria is a strong-willed survivor.  Victoria first met Xiongmao in Minsk in 1997, and she has been working for him ever since.  Xiongmao offered Victoria near-limitless freedom and power to effect change.  She has worked as his assassin and as his spokeswoman.  Victoria is both a polished politician and a ruthless, cunning warrior.  She has been involved with one of Xiongmao’s other warriors, a man by the name of Renard, since 2001 when they consummated their relationship for the first time (of many).  Together, this delightfully wicked twosome have built a fortuitous black market empire and have opened a number of low-profile, high-earning establishments around the world (the most essential of which is a club located outside of Philadelphia on the Jersey side, which stands as the nexus of their unlawful empire).  Victoria is addicted to Renard’s electrifying, powerful personality and Renard’s aberrant sexual proclivities; however, she is also drawn to Xiongmao’s pure evil seed, which will pose an interesting quandary for her within the context of the film.

Devon Macray

A bizarre yet insanely popular local television, radio, and newspaper personality.  Devon Macray is, to many, one of the standout voices in the tri-state area.  Always at the center of scandal, Devon was recently criticized for "whoring himself out to any product that comes down the line" with endorsements of everything from Jitterhouse Coffee to Jack Smokes bearing his name. Devon Macray has been "in talks" to run against Governor Charles Bedford's in his upcoming re-election; although, it is not clear who he has been in talks with.

Charlotte McFadden

Bright and beautiful right hand to Governor Charles Bedford.  Charlotte McFadden is ambitious and assertive.  She is always looking for the right angle, spin, or inside deal that will allow her to maneuver to best suit her interests and the interests of her candidate.  Charlotte has worked with Governor Charles Bedford, following a sting with the State Assembly, for the past four years, believing in his sincerity and good-natured approach.  Charlotte is, as many political aides are, somewhat jaded about the political process and the media; although, she cares a great deal for Governor Bedford and sees no one else capable of helping to position him properly for a successful reelection.

Commander Mitternacht

During the Second World War, certain members within the upper echelon of the Third Reich operating without authorization from Berlin under a secret directive known the Panda-Syndikat (or Panda Syndicate) obsessively combed the countryside in pursuit of an artifact described by ancient Chinese texts as the source of an unfathomable dark magic that could bring about the end of the world.  The Panda-Syndikat was lead by a rogue German Commander by the name of Mitternacht (a mysterious SS officer rumored to have supernatural powers).  Mitternacht found ghoulish delight in his role with the Panda Syndicate and enjoyed torturing even those who were not able to give him any information to further his cause.  After the war, he and his troops fled allied forces only to be captured and executed somewhere northwest of Vienna.

Professor Ian Redgrave

A professor of anthropology with Northern State University, he is an associate of Rachel Gehret and Uncle to Jim Reeder.  Having come into possession of Xiongmao’s Medallion through Rachel Gehret, Professor Redgrave has sought to ascertain its intrinsic value by contacting a number of his associates in Great Britain about the artifact.  Professor Redgrave informs Rachel Gehret that the medallion is Chinese in origin from the Sui Dynasty by way of certain markings on the back.  According to Redgrave, the Sui Dynasty was actually “a very interesting and significant time in Chinese history.  Despite having a short lifetime, the Sui Dynasty accomplished many things. The Grand Canal was extended north from Hangzhou across the Yangzi to Yangzhou and then northwest to the region of Louyang.”  Professor Redgrave encourages anyone with an interest in history or antiquities to take up the study of anthropology and archaeology, because he is worried, with good reason, that there are not enough students within that field in the modern era and that it may soon be a lost profession.

James Reeder

Thoughtful, resourceful, socially responsible yet skeptical hero.  Jim is just a guy in the wrong place at the wrong time who gets wrapped up in the struggle to save the world from Xiongmao and the other villains of the Panda Syndicate.  An electrician by trade, Jim left the corporate world to shape his own destiny as a tradesman and self-employed business owner.  Although he has found a degree of happiness in his business, Jim is in denial of the fact that even his business ties him down in ways he would have never imagined, and he cannot shake feelings of wanderlust and a deeply seeded yearning for adventure in his life.  The back of my truck is kind of like my office, and, at home, he's just got a coffee table and a laptop (no desk).

Fun Fact - Jim teaches Martial Arts on the side at Green Lion School of Martial Arts in the evenings.

Isabella Roman

Cunning, crafty, and somewhat stuck-up/snobby.  Ms. Roman is all of that and more.  She is the slick and sinister right hand of our antagonist (Xiongmao).  Ms. Roman is like the Executive Assistant to the Antichrist.  She is perceptive and yet her arrogance keeps her from understanding her expendability; although, as her understanding of the impending apocalypse grows, she may choose a different perspective.

Ganaraj "G" Raman

Ganaraj, or "G" for short, is the wild and crazy partner to Jim Reeder.  G is an uninhibited and robustly confident.  He represents the heart of the film, and he is, for all intents and purposes, the most comic and charismatic of the heroes set to battle the forces of evil and the Panda Syndicate.  G is as close and trusting of a friend as any of us could ever ask for.  His playful sense of humor helps to bring comic balance to many of the film's darker scenes.  As can be seen in the film, G is the first person to volunteer an explanation or to express his opinion when asked.  Further, G is a trained fighter himself, but he is definitely more of a lover than a fighter, having his mind more often on what to him are sacred aspects of womanhood.  And, having dated Amanda Bannister, G has had to become an expert in the anatomy of the opposite sex.

Fun Fact - G idolizes Jackie Chan and sneaks into Talia Goez's house when she is not at home, eating her food, watching her television and wearing her pink slippers, which he has hidden beneath her couch.

Renard

"A real sleazeball who operates a club outside of Philadelphia, on the Jersey side."  Renard is a general within the ranks of the modern day Panda Syndicate.  Renard deals in fantasies of human flesh:  whatever you want ... he'll provide but for a price beneath the roof of his delightfully sinful abode. He has been involved with one of Xiongmao’s other warriors, a woman by the name of Victoria, since 2001 when they consummated their relationship for the first time (of many).  Together, this delightfully wicked twosome have built a fortuitous black market empire and have opened a number of low-profile, high-earning establishments around the world (the most essential of which is a club located outside of Philadelphia on the Jersey side, which stands as the nexus of their unlawful empire).

Fun Fact - Renard's favorite show is "Carnivore," the hero of which is a man by the name of Daryl Bistecca - a chauvinistic lover of red meat

Stockwell

An agent of the Panda Syndicate, Stockwell is so frequently acting undercover that it is difficult for him to distinguish between his original personality and his many other covert personalities.  Having acted as a cop, an FBI agent, a hobo, a utility repairman, a cab driver, a statesman, he is a master of disguise and identity theft.  Formerly a stage actor, Stockwell fell victim to an electrified grate while walking one day in the city.  The brief but powerful electric shock addled his memory and has made it difficult for him to choose from what is real and what is not.  His only loyalty lies with his partner Burke, who mentors him in the arts of espionage.  Stockwell shows up at Rachel Gehret's house, having intersected a phone call to police about a break-in, and takes her into custody, along with the help of Burke and Victoria L'Orain-Arc.

Xiongmao

He is the villainous leader of a dark and sinister organization known as the Panda Syndicate.  They are an ancient society of warmongering villains.  For over a thousand years, they have been responsible for more of the terror and destruction that our world has seen than you could possibly imagine.  The Panda Syndicate is a demonic horde under the direction of one tyrannical being by the name of Xiongmao.  He IS the Panda Syndicate.  A cruel, ruthless figure of monstrous ambition.  Xiongmao is looking to rebuild the world by to his own design through its own death and subsequent rebirth.  According to Agent Stratford Dixon, Xiongmao is "a devious and manipulative architect of atrocity" and is after the panda medallion; although, Dixon suggests that there is both a good and an evil side to even this maleficent master of martial arts, voodoo lore and sorcery.  Little is revealed about Xiongmao's past in this particular chapter of the chronicles of the Panda Syndicate; however, it can be said that Xiongmao's bloodlust and ambition are not without their own origins, which is, perhaps, another story for another time.

Bianka Yonac

Elegant and powerful polish woman who defends her home against an onslaught of the Panda Syndicate as lead by Commander Mitternacht in 1939. Distant relative to Rachel Gehret and cousin to Kazimierz Yonac, Bianka discovered Xiongmao's artifact on an archaeological expedition in South Africa where it was lost by the treacherous Willoughby Morse, one of Xiongmao's agents within the British Imperialist Regime. She is mother to young Jurek who brings the mystical medallion to Budapest. Bianka is a strong-willed, dignified matron within her own house and within her community.

.

Kazimierz Yonac

A member of the Mossad Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations since sometime in the late 1950's, Kazimierz enjoys dual citizenship within both the United States and Israel.  Kazimierz grew up in Budapest, fled to then Palestine where he joined with a Special British RAF Jewish Brigade, and left for England in 1947.  Kazimierz went to Israel in 1948 and stayed through 1956 in order to complete his training with Mossad.  Ultimately, Kazimierz immigrated to the United States by way of New York sometime in the early 1960's with his sister Debrah Yonac, who there married Alexander Gehret, and gave birth to Rachel Gehret's father Charles.  Kazimierz took possession of Xiongmao's Medallion, brought to him by his cousin Jurek, who fled the Nazis under the command of member of the Panda Syndicate (Mitternacht) and died shortly after his arrival in Budapest in 1939.  Having spent a great deal of time abroad throughout subsequent decades, Kazimierz went on such an excursion to Australia in 2006 where he met an untimely death, leaving the entirety of his estate to his great niece Rachel Gehret.
